LifeConnect
Eat together, learn together, pray together & serve together.
Our small group ministry is a vital part of the overall ministry at VLC. We meet together not only for the mutual support and encouragement that can only be provided in a small, flexible, and informal setting, but as a method of outreach as well. The LifeConnect groups are places where lasting relationships are formed and friends can be made and kept, as we all seek spiritual growth and a greater knowledge of God. The support and accountability that is gained by meeting regularly with a small cadre of other believers is unmatched by any large group meeting at church.
There are four major facets to our LifeConnect system: eat together, learn together, pray together, and serve together. This is a Biblical system used by the early church to build a community of faith even in the midst of persecution. A group that shares food, studies the Bible, prays with and for one another, and goes out and serves their church and community together will build lasting ties to each other while strengthening the church as a whole and making an amazing impact on the larger community around them.
Our small groups meet on Sunday evenings twice per month in various homes during the spring and fall semesters, and set their own schedules for additional fellowship meetings and service projects. People are free to try out different established groups and find one that they are comfortable with (groups are not assigned by the church leadership). Most LifeConnect groups reach a size of 12-15 people before splitting up into two groups and repeating the growth cycle. To get connected, contact us and we’ll help you get started!
